I would move your cat tree, into the corner between both windows (might be weird but your cat would LOVE it). Switch the couch and the futon. If you're able to, I would also make the futon be in the 'couch' position and change the sheet on it to be a calming green color. Find some new pillow covers. Put your games under the light tan tv stand (far back so you don't see them right away). Shift your stand over about a foot. I would also get rid of the dark stand on top of it. And then you could spray paint or get a new bookcase, organize them by size and rotate them between a few sitting up and some laying down. I think also some apartment-friendly curtain rods and dark curtains would be cute (nothing too fancy). Or some string lights to go around the room (sounds cheap but gives a cozy mood and on a budget).
