this is what I use:
power bank: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LH26PFT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
the wall wart: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08H4KS2LV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
3ft cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H24PJGP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
this allows me to fast charge both the power bank when it's plugged into the wall wart, and fast charge my phone when it's plugged into the bank. It's slim and light enough for me. For my iphone 13 mini, it'll charge probably about 2.5-3 full charges
Battery packs are all dependent on how much you need, I find the smallest you can get away with is the best. Less to put in my backpack and charge at the library/panera/gym.
My personal fav is anything from the Anker brand, but there's a lot of good options out there. I currently use https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Portable-10000mAh-Delivery-PowerCore-dp-B08LH26PFT/dp/B08LH26PFT/
For fan, I got a cheaper one on sale but something like this works well https://www.amazon.com/10000mAh-Battery-Operated-Portable-Stroller/dp/B08866RDYK
To me the keys are
So, in the throes of COVID, and with nothing to do, I wanted to share my Nintendo Switch mobile set up with ya’ll. It took some time to find the right parts and piece everything together, but I think the end result speaks for itself: functional, compact, minimalistic and most importantly, highly protective.
Note that I have the OLED version, so this should work for non-OLED models as well. For reference, the grips installed on my Switch (as seen in the photos) are BinBok Joypads, although the Hori Split Pad Pro’s, which I also own, fit as well with zero fitment issues to the case.
List of parts and my rationale for each are as follows:
Case - ButterFox Large Carrying Case. Chose this case as it fits my OLED Switch (obviously), aftermarket grips (BinBok Joypads and Hori Split Pad Pro’s) and a good number of game slots. I also chose this case as my AC adapter and charging cable, when placed in the zippered pouch, do not hit the dual thumb sticks. In addition, the bottom tray has a cutout to hold a decent sized portable battery charger without impacting my Switch. When closed and zipped, the case does not push down on the thumb sticks. The case is padded inside (a velvet type texture), and has an EVA-like protective outer hard shell.

Portable Battery Charger: Anker Portable Charger, USB-C, 10,000mAh with 20W Power Delivery, (PowerCore Slim 10K PD). Chose this specific model as this was one of the only portable battery banks I could find that was a) dimensionally capable of fitting in the case without impacting my Switch, and b) offered Fast Charge capability coupled with decent mAh. I can get about 1.5 to 2 charges out of the battery bank when charging my Switch to full. In addition, I added Velcro strips to the top of the battery charger (see photo) and the underside of the case strap that holds the battery charger in place. I did this to prevent the battery charger from sliding around in the case and potentially damaging the USB-C cable and adapter coming off of it.

AC Adapter: Anker 30W PIQ 3.0 and GaN Wall Charger, PowerPort Atom III Slim USB-C Power Adapter for Nintendo Switch. Chose this as it plays nicely with my Anker Fast Charge products, and more importantly, its form factor is perfect in the zippered pouch as it won’t hit the thumb sticks on my Switch when the case is closed and zipped up.

Charging Cable 1: Mophie Fast Charge Compatible USB-C Cable with Dual USB-C Connectors, 6.5 feet. Chose this as it’s a quality cable, and plays nicely with Fast Charge products. I use this cable in conjunction with the Anker PowerLine III AC adapter to charge my Switch while it’s still in the case (no need to remove my Switch in order to charge it).

Charging Cable 2: USB-C Cable 60W, Anker Powerline III USB-C to USB-C Cable 2.0, 1 foot. Chose this as it was the shortest, quality USB-C cable I could find that played nicely with the power requirements of the Anker portable battery charger. I used a hairdryer to heat the cable and form fit it into place within the bottom tray of the case, making the connection between the Anker portable battery charger and my Switch with the help of several 90-degree USB-C adapters (see below). This way, I can charge my Switch on the go, while the case is zipped closed.

USB-C Right-Angle Adapters: Right Angle USB-C Extension Adapter, (4-Pack) PD 100W USB Type C, Male to Female Extender, Aluminum Alloy. Chose these as reviews for them were very favorable, have an all-metal housing and work well with Fast Charge products. I use the right angle adapters in three places: 1) to create a right angle from the Anker portable battery charger to the Anker 1-foot charging cable, 2) to create a right angle from the Switch to the Anker 1-foot charging cable, and 3) to create a right angle from the Switch to the 6.5-foot Mophie charging cable. Using the adapter with the Mophie charging cable allows me to keep the Switch in the case without needing to remove it when charging my Switch via the Anker AC adapter.

So whatcha all think? Did I do good, or do you think there’s room for improvement? Let me know your thoughts and feel free to post your own mobile case Switch and charging set-ups!
Cheers! =)
Get a headpad and silicone face cover. Spend the saved money on an external battery and USB cable.
I bought this one in 2018 & to this day it's saved my ass so many times. It's slim so it easily fits in a pocket, can charge most smartphones 2-3 times from 0-100 on a single charge, and you can charge it with either a USB-C or Micro USB cable so if you end up having to borrow a cable from someone then you have twice the options. Anker has since released a newer model of this portable charger but the older one will honestly still serve you well and it's cheaper. (Anker is also a well-known, reputable brand and I really don't fuck around with the no-name companies on Amazon for something as sensitive as batteries. $30 might seem like a lot, but considering that this thing has been dropped, manhandled, and used constantly since 2018 & will probably serve me well even beyond 2022, I think it's 100% worth it)
I can vouch for this guy as well as the 20000 mAh version here, both work great USB-C to USB-C for the Quest 2.
My understanding is that the internal battery will continue to drain if you use USB-A to USB-C, but I’m no expert. Both versions of the power bank I linked will ensure they get used up first.
I get about 2 hours. Get an external power bank and a short USB cable to extend you playtime. I can get 6.5 hours out of my headset now.
