This is the best screen protector (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PXO8U1O/). It's $10 from Cailifu and provides full-screen coverage without any halos. It's cheap but feels like real glass.
It's weaknesses are: no oleophobic coating, and there's a slight dotted-grid pattern that can be noticeable outdoor in bright lights.
The dotted-grid you can't do anything about, but you can make your own oleophobic coating using car wax or paint sealant. Clean screen, spray a bit of paint sealant on, wipe with a microfiber cloth until it's clear. Let it cure overnight. I did this 3 days ago and today the screen is clear and smudge-resistant.
There is no reason to pay $20-40 for overpriced screen protectors that don't fit, have halos, or bad cutouts.
Secondly, all these cases are fugly. You'd have to pay me $20 to put their ugly logos on my phone. Spend $20 for a case so you can give some tiny company free advertising? No way.
