For underwear, I purchased some high waisted ones based on other people recommending them, but I found that I preferred things that fit loosely and ride low post op. I wore the high waisted undies one day, but they made me more uncomfortable and I did not use them again. These are the ones I purchased fwiw.

I was prescribed opioids but did not use them. I used a regimen of 800mg ibuprofen + 500mg tylenol every ~8 hours and did fine with that.

My partner also works from home. We were unsure about that as well, but he ended up not needing to take any time off. My surgery was on a friday so I had time to recover a little over the weekend. I needed him to cook meals for the first week but I was able to get up and get around on my own from day 1. No kids here, but we do have a rambunctious 80 lb dog. We let him stay with friends for a week to avoid any problems and that was a good idea. I definitely was not able to deal with his shenanigans for the first few days.
