Here are some tricks I found, most of these tricks all work in synergy with earthing.

  • Vitamin D - you should take higher dose than what most government health agencies suggest. Vitamin D binds to 2700 genes so around 10% of your DNA is less expressed when you are deficient and most are deficient simply because we wear clothes and live in buildings. It's healthier to take between 6000 and 10 000 IU / day than any lower dose. Great science was reported by Grassroot Health, Jeff T Bowles and Michael Holick. I used the dminder app and blood tests to make sure I reached levels of 90ng/ml. During the last 90 days my combined sun/food/supplement sources of D were 930 000 IU. I have not been sick with a cold since upping my D intake.
  • Sunlight - We were brainwashed to fear sunlight but the opposite is healthier. The sunscreen industry used fear of cancer to help sales. However countries using more suncreen have more cancer. You still need to avoid getting burned, but skin will adapt if exposed gradually and a tan will prevent sunburn. A great book about this is Embrace the Sun by Marc Sorenson. It summarizes the science and then goes into tons of epidemiological stats. It reports that you are 273 times more likely to die from consequences of the lack of sun exposure than from skin cancer obtained from sunburns.
  • Fasting - This one is not cheap, not free, it's better than free: you will save time and money! When I initially heard about this I thought it was a crazy idea but the more I read about it the more I wanted to try it. Our ancestors did not have fast food and grocery stores with food always available so our bodies are waiting for times of scarcity to perform some maintenance tasks. Jason Fung and Siim Land are great authors on this subject. Hybrid cars can run on fuel or electricity, your body also has 2 fuel sources: sugar or fat. However if you don't deplete the sugar, fat won't ever be used, and your body may have forgotten how to burn fat if you're always been eating nonstop. Your body can adapt slowly to longer fasting period. I was able to stop eating for 5 days after increasing slowly the fasting period over a 1 year period. The mental clarity during a fast is amazing. Once your body becomes an hybrid engine again you have much more stable energy levels. It can be used to reverse diabetes.
  • Magnesium - Most people are deficient in this mineral, soils have been depleted. We know that our body loses magnesium during exercise, stress and when consuming alcohol. Magnesium needs to be in equilibrium with calcium. Magnesium is bulky so you need to take a lot. Some sources are suggesting 400 mg of elemental magnesium per day and it would be very difficult to get it all from food. Great authors about this subject: Carolyn Dean and Thomas E Levy.
  • Sleep - Prioritizing high quality sleep is important and we forgot that because of our fast paced and busy lives. There are many circadian rhythm optimization techniques reported by Satchin Panda in his book the Circadian Code, such as avoiding large meals and blue light in the evening, seeking sunlight early in the day and exercising daily. With devices such as sleep trackers we can really see what's going on during the night and improve the body's ability to fully repair and recharge.
  • Fall asleep faster - This helped me and multiple family members find sleep quickly. Invest a few minutes to learn it and then you can see if it works for you.
  • Melatonin - I was always afraid of sleeping pills because of potential side effects and didn't want to depend on any drug. However I came to learn that melatonin is a natural substance manufactured by the pineal gland. Young people have much more melatonin than older adults. Because this natural substance is compatible with our bodies it won't have side effects if you take physiological doses of timed release melatonin pills (300 mcg - 600 mcg). I have seen on my sleep tracker that it increased my deep sleep. It's a power antioxidant that helps the brain cleanup during the night. It's also able to protect from cognitive decline and Alzheimer's symptoms.
