I'm assuming your LG headset is wired. If it's wireless via Bluetooth, that's awesome. But I have usually run into Bluetooth headsets having really bad latency and connection issues when trying to listen to video or interact on video calls. I do know that some of the more expensive Logitech headsets have low latency Bluetooth hardware like your Plantronics headset. However, while the headset may have a fast transmission rate, you're still bound to the receiver quality on your PC's Bluetooth reception, which can be a problem in itself.
A wired headset won't let you down. Of course you lose that cool factor. But it will guarantee the best possible connection and sound quality. Something as simple as the Logitech H390 has a nice long cable, uses USB, is slim and relatively discreet, and has a simple mute button and volume rocker. https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Headset-H390-Noise-Cancelling/dp/B000UXZQ42/
Just my two cents. Hope this helps! :)
I always recommend Logitech headsets
It's $25 which is a little bit more than you want but they will last you for a quality amount of years (4+). If that's too expensive, shop around Logitech- I trust that brand the most for good quality at reasonable prices.
These are what I use on my Mini at work. They work just fine.

this But it isn’t super comfy If you have to wear it all day ya may need something else
I used to work remotely, we had video meetings and phone call meetings.
For the video meetings, I used a USB headset with a boom mic, worked like a champ, I wore it with my aids or without (often without as I would just crank up the volume). I'm pretty sure it was this one:

For phone calls, I bought a cordless phone that allowed me to plug in a different headset using a 2.5mm jack, it had an integrated boom mike as well, folks often complimented me on how good it sounded. It was this one:

Good luck!
Just make sure what ever headset you get is USB, having to deal with adapters can become a major pain in the ass - if they even work at all.
here is what i got Logitech H390
and a 10ft USB extension cord
Best work upgrade ever

I’ve used these for about a year and they work great! I know the muting function works well since I’ve gotten a lot of confused looks after forgetting to unmute myself lol.
And they use USB
