System spec:M27Q-P monitor, surface dock 1, Surface,
OS: Windows 10
3.Driver versions: all updated drivers
5.Attempted Troubleshooting:
When trying to use the KVM switch between my surface dock 1 and my new monitor, it can only display the image, the mouse and keyboard do not seem to work.
Here is all of the hardware involved:
USB C to display port cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081VK7Q94?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Display port to mini display port adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HNF0KF0?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I'm connecting the adapter to the display port mini port on the surface dock. That adapter is then connected to the display port to usb C cable. The usb c is then plugged into the monitor.
Is there anyway to get this to work with the kvm switch with functioning keyboard and mouse?
I use’d this adapter to connect it to a regular display port cable. Worked great — got the full 1440p at 175 hz using it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HNF0KF0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. No hiccups, no disconnects.
so i switched adapters to try and avoid this problem, i now use this. still nothing, and i have no idea why bc the hardware transcode works fine so i know the card is functional. is there something i am missing here?
You’ll need to find a good mini display port adapter that supports 8k @ 60 such as this one from cable matters. Otherwise I think it should be fine
