No, this is easily one of the worst ATX pin extractors I've used. The molex and fan pin extractors are good but the ATX pin one is just so terrible. The heatshrink is to protect your hands. Honestly, you should be putting heatshrink on these tools regardless if you build a lot of cables. Of the ones I own, the mainframe extractor and the molex extractor are roughly equal in quality for custom made cables. For OEM PSU pin extraction, this lamptron kit with the thicker attachment and this one are the best. OEM psu pins have wings that tend to be harder to make fully depress, that's where the thicker tools really help.
