I use the T16000m Hotas with my VR. Price fluctuates around $100-150, but ie currently on sale on amazon for $97.00

It's got enough buttons to map almost everything you need to the joystick without modifier buttons, but if you use 1 or 2, then you can map everything to it. I only use the mouse/keyboard now to search for system names.

T.16000M is usually recommended as a good place to start, has all the basic controls and is generally a pretty good stick (particularly for the price), and can be expanded with throttle and pedals later if desired. The stick itself comes with a very simple throttle slider (you may still prefer to use the keyboard for this at first) and twist-yaw controls, along with some particularly useful features that cheaper sticks might not include, such as an 8-way hat switch.

honestly its fine if you just want it for a couple of games and lug it out every once in a while. I'm very new to vr, (Christmas newb and i fucking love the vive), so honestly I'm not sure what games you are playing with it. I'd say if you were playing something arcady with only a few inputs, this is fine (think war thunder or like battlefield series if you don't care about winning.), but if you are playing something that likes to use lots of buttons (elite dangerous, arma 3, flight simulator x), I'd upgrade to T1600. its relatively reasonably priced while having the world of button inputs. https://www.amazon.com/ThrustMaster-2960778-Thrustmaster-T16000M-HOTAS/dp/B01KCHPRXA/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1545898133&sr=1-1&keywords=hotas

basically, if you need more then 10 buttons, upgrade. if you can get away with 10 buttons, go for it.

Sounds like the TM T-16000m is a better overall hotas for the same price.

I was looking at this one too.. The look is...interesting. It's also cheaper than the Logitech. Has decent buttons but the throttle slides instead of tilts.

Yeah, I can definitely hear the wallet crying. 😅
