For addressable devices (which still use 1D barcodes), the format is Interleaved 2-of-5 (sometimes abbreviated ITF). Any 1D (or 2D) scanner that can decode this format is acceptable. For scanning devices directly into the 3-SDU from the Barcode Worksheet using the Barcode Entry Tool (from the tools menu), just be sure the device is compatible with your version of Windows.
