I prefer wooden parallettes for the feel and I just think they look better. I would get a taller wood parallettes so you can/eventually do an L-sit hold and swing through to your planche level or even a little beyond using momentum. You can do it on low parallettes too or even hands on floor, but that takes more flexibility and you probably won't be able to use momentum.
I have this and really like the feel and ended up getting their taller longer version directly from them on Black Friday for $99 (I think). Buying through them instead of Amazon is probably going to be less $$$. They are a German company so probably has a European site for you to buy through if you choose to.
This is not really pertaining to this thread but in case anyone was looking for portable parallettes I have those and really like it. Legs pull out and stows away within the bar. Also have this portable parallettes and like 'em. They weren't designed for this but you can put the legs in two different ways. The way shown on the link which makes them medium height and another way that makes them low height.
