Give it some time and practice and you will get used to it, but they're definitely more unwieldy than a regular cane. It also might be made worse by the fact that that particular seat cane has all legs firmly planted on the ground even when folded. My first one was one like this (but not necessarily this one specifically) which might be a bit better because only one leg makes contact w the ground as you walk. If you want one that's really a whole lot lighter and luss bulky and a breeze to use, I would definitely recommend the Ta-Da chair/cane, it's what I use and it's excellent. More expensive, but if you can fit it into your budget sooooo much better than any other seat cane out there. I use the series 1. I think the series 2 might more durable and is the latest version, but the handle might not fit everyone's hands comfortably, it doesn't seem to spring open on its own like the series 1 does, and it seems more designed for like hiking than daily use. The series 1 is also a bit cheaper lol.
