My basics:

These shears

clipped to this heavy duty badge reel on my pants.

And I always have a Gerber Mini in my pocket.

2 sets spare gloves in my back pocket. Alcohol swabs in a cargo pockets. A couple flushes in the other. A sharpie, pen light, and 2 black pens in my pen pocket.

please do not buy the connect a vest. just use a WOW/COW.

room lights on and iphone light should be all you need to see the vast majority of wounds.

i have used these $12 shears from amazon to cut through jeans and they did just fine and i wasn't worried about losing them: https://www.amazon.com/Madison-Supply-Premium-Fluoride-Scissors/dp/B00YFG1U86/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=black+trauma+shears&qid=1562108772&s=gateway&sr=8-3

DO NOT MARK YOUR SURGICAL PATIENTS WITH PERMANENT MARKER... especially ones you use on different patients.

I got everything that I carry from amazon.

I got these penlights about 3 months ago and I haven’t even burned through one yet.

I don’t bring it all the time but I have a Littmann Classic 3 that’s a little overkill for BP but I’m going into nursing so I picked one up.

Trauma shears should be provided by your company but if not you don’t need anything fancy like raptors. These cheap ones off of amazon should do fine.

I like to carry a pocket knife well because you never know what you’re gonna end up restocking. This is the one that I have and it has never let me down.

You can never have enough pens. I absolutely love these ones but be careful who you let borrow them.

I like to have a notebook on me just to write down anything I need to on a call. Here are some cheap-o ones that I like.

If you need anything else feel free to reply to this and I’ll see what I can find!

Things I’ve purchased over the last several months that I’ve actually used (in an accelerated BSN):

Eyedrops for when your eyes hate you from staring at a computer all day.

Best damned disposable masks I’ve found so far that actually fit my (smaller) face and don’t fog up glasses as badly.

Exercise bike with a desk so that I can actually get some exercise while doing all of my readings and ATIs.

Clipboard for clinicals (several of these are available).

Cheap knockoff Stoggles that get the job done and are cute.

Storage case for your stethoscope and other various items (several of these available, this was just the cheapest at the time of ordering).

Trauma shears that are well made.

Compression socks that are all white in case your program requires that.

Penlight - you have several options, but this one doesn’t have a pathetic little bulb like the one the uniform supply store I had to go to had.

BP cuff that actually works on first use (luck of the draw for what I ordered, but some classmates got some that just straight up didn’t work when they tried them and ended up ordering this one cause mine worked).

That’s all I have in my order history from what I can find. Not saying any are necessary, just that these have worked nicely for me.
