Do you have fork springs at all?? There's no way you should ever be able to bottom out the forks by hand. Usually it takes a ton of effort to even get the forks to begin compressing, let alone bottom out.

Your service manual lists the fork spring free length at 19.8". Measure your fork springs and see if they've somehow worn out, or maybe somebody put the wrong springs in there to lower the bike.

Progressive part number 11-1103 is a new set of upgraded fork springs. I ran a set in my CX500 and liked them - firm, but still a really smooth ride.
