the gs3 uses an 11 pin MHL connector while older MHL connectors use 5 pins. source

great catch. i'm quite glad i didn't just buy the cheapest one i could find on amazon the other day.

if i were to buy one right now i would go with this, or you can wait until a 3rd party starts making these cables for $10.
