fasting can indeed help......ie eating twice a day, 12hrs between the two meals, no later than 2 hours before bedtime (3 is better).
for fasting, that means no snacking between....basically zero calories....for maximum effect.
if one must have a 'snack' between the two, consider food snacks that have minimal insulin release (remember, protein actually releases insulin)....
ideas: best choice, 1-2 handfuls pecans (low protein, higher healthy fat, almost no insulin release) and/or low-sodium black olives (like 12-15 whole black olives....remember, low sodium) and/or 1/2 plain avocado
added: there is one more thing you could consider as an experiment, esp. considering this situation. 3 caps, twice a day, source naturals magtein, for 90 days, and assess effect...if works, continue. i bought mine sold by amazon (be careful of resellers):
