That EZ-Goal is highly recommended by a bunch of people. I have one and love it, although I haven't used it as much as I should. Here's a good review on it from our very own /u/howtohockeydotcom.

It will dent a little but it still will hold up fine. The backstop works great for snagging those pucks you get a little too much on.

As for a shooting surface, if you don't have anything decent yet, I'd recommend a sheet of Thifty White Board and a can of B'laster Silicone Lubricant. They should both be available at your local big box hardware stores and the wood section can cut the sheet smaller for you. Spray the silicone lube on the board, very lightly smear it around the whole surface of the board and let it dry. It'll be very close to the slickness of ice so you can use real pucks. Or there's also the purpose-made hockey shooting sheets that work very well too, but are quite a bit more expensive.
