I would need to update my SSD, which is a more complicated process and needs a second computer (something about mirroring?) which I don't have. So I aborted my mission.
Technically they are correct, but that isn't the only way to upgrade to SSD. You can always just do a new clean install, grab a dirt cheap 2.5" USB-HDD enclosure and copy whatever you need from the old drive.

But when I look at the spec on Amazon:
"256GB PCIe NVMe SSD (2 x PCIe M.2 slots - 1 slot open for easy upgrades) and 1 - Available hard drive bay"
you already have SSD. Seriously I cannot imagine such recent generation machine to not come with SSD...

Upgrade to 32GB RAM, 16 is just the vanilla recommendation. Get 2x16GB module, they exists. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ddr4l+16gb&crid=23KLTY7N8ZHJB&sprefix=ddr4l+16%2Caps%2C505&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

This one is just over 600 dollars. It is pretty decent for the price... I think.
Although if you pay just a bit more you get an even better machine with an RTX card:
Yes! This is the one I bought. It arrived in official packaging and such.
Wife bought this in 2020. Worked fine in Server Slam.
Or a laptop if you prefer ($700)

Acer is a good brand to check out as they are solid budget computers, its a little above your price point at $750 you could probably get it for 650 on sale. It tends to gets a little sluggish if you're pushing a hundred mods or so, This was the old laptop I used before upgrading.
Acer Nitro 5 $750
Lenovo $675
I used this Ram Upgrade on this Acer Nitro 5 and it worked perfectly
