Optional supplement: a microfiber bag protects the lenses, can be used to clean the glass, and adds very little weight.
Been following the discussions here about storage/travel solutions for the Pocket; this is what I've come up with to suit my needs. Figured I'd share in case it's useful to anyone else.
I tried some of the other cases that have come up here, that are intended for a 3DS or external harddrive, but they were all too small for me -- I want my Pocket, charger, cartridge collection, and GameBoy Micro to all fit together cleanly.
I was getting ready to give up and resign myself to ordering Waterfield's Analogue Pocket Pack, but I really didn't want to spent that money on a storage case instead of expanding my cartridge collection. I finally started looking for generic electronics cases, and found that some include velcro-adjustable interior dividers -- jackpot.
I could do without the generic electronics symbols on the front of this one, but otherwise it's essentially perfect, almost like it was designed to hold a GameBoy collection. The upper compartment has room for 8 GBA carts and a couple cables/earbuds held in place with elastic bands; the zippered compartments could hold another 6 (cased) or 12 (naked) GBA carts or 4 GB/GBC carts. The main compartment has room for the Pocket and Micro in their sleeves, the USB-C cable and plug/adapter, and 6-8 (cased) or 10-12 (naked) GB/GBC carts.
The case was $18 on Amazon (comes in different colors, too), and a four-pack of the sunglasses pouch for the Pocket was $7. If you're like me and need space for more than just the Pocket and a game cart or two, definitely give this -- or something like it -- a closer look.
