While y’all are at Amazon, check out this book by Mick West (of Metabunk.com) called Escaping the Rabbit Hole: How to Debunk Conspiracy Theories With Facts, Logic, and Respect. It’s a guide to helping a friend (or loved one, or co-worker, or acquaintance) get out from being consumed by paranoid conspiracy theories. It focuses on a few specific ones, like Chemtrails and False Flags and 9/11 stuff, only mentioning Pizzagate/Qanon briefly, but the overall advice might be helpful for those of you whose parents or other loved ones are obsessed with Qult stuff.
I am luckily not in that boat, but still found it a good read this past weekend. It’s Kindle version is currently only $1.99 too, which kinda sucks for me since I think I paid like $8 or $9, but oh well. I was thinking of some of the people here who have posted about their mom or dad or both parents being deep into Q and thus also the growing number of other increasingly bizarre conspiracy theories that have been absorbed into it, making it a huge Ultimate Conspiracy Theory of Everything. I’m so sad for people who watch their loved ones sign up for such openly hateful beliefs. Anyway, I just recommend the book, I’m not being paid to promote it or anything.
If anyone knows of any other good books (or sites or YouTube videos, for that matter) about debunking stuff, please share, I’m interested. I think debunking in general is a fascinating subject.
