That might work just the way it is. The treads themselves don’t seal on a hose thread. If your having trouble getting the hose on, they make dies for cleaning hose threads. If it still doesn’t seal, wire brush the surface of the threads and around the cut area, once it’s completely clean and free of oxidation, put some flux on it, heat it with a torch and put a little solder in it. Just a tiny bit should do. After the solder sets, wipe the flux off with a rag. Run some water to cool it and make it safe to touch. Now file the face where the hose gasket sits flat, and run your tap to clean the threads. The alternative to this is replacement. Which means stucco repair. In the end repairing the threads is less work.
