Also, going through TSA. You may want to ask for the private screening. They will need to send the carrier through the scanner without the pet in it. I found waiting in the side room much less stressful for everyone.

Also, be prepared for possible extra time at check in. Leaving MSP one time during a "weather event" everyone was seriously backed up for checkin.
