There are plenty of good options out there, and every house setup and needs are different. I personally have this one. I like the 2 unit mesh system because it covers my upstairs and downstairs fully and this system is powerful enough that I get decent connections outside in my detached garage that I never got before with my old router. Do some research. Your needs may differ, and that unit I have is on the higher end of the spectrum, price wise.
Hey man
I recently moved into to a new place. Where i game is too far for an ethernet cable. What do you think of orbi? https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Orbi-Whole-System-Tri-band/dp/B01K4CZOBS/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1517993315&sr=1-1&keywords=orbi
I also thought of getting a power line but im really at the oppsite of the sound on the 2nd floor. While the modem is on the first floor. If i used a powerline it would run through the kitchen and living room before it gets to me. Not sure if its worth it.
Thanks.
Orbi router + satellite. Head over to /r/orbi and /r/homenetworking and ask around if it is the right equipment for your situation before you make an impulsive buy.
Get a mesh router, or ethernet to coax moca converter.
The first option is the much better one. Extenders are garbage.
Get one of these:
Moca works by operating at frequencies on the coax that do not interfere with the cable company signal. It does not actually come from spectrum, it is a capability of equipment. So grab the current 3.1 modem from spectrum, then buy any of the routers i listed and youll be set.
